Philosophy

Mission Statement:

Caring for Children by connecting families to the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Philosophies:

These are some of our centers' philosophies with regard to early childhood development.

1) Children are a gift from God

Children will learn to see themselves as special creations of God. They will learn of God’s love for them as demonstrated by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The children will come to love and recognize Jesus as their Lord and Savior and show love to others through acceptance and forgiveness. We will accomplish this through daily prayers and devotions, “Jesus Time”, Bible stories, and weekly chapel time.

2) Children who have positive self-images are healthier and happier

Children should see themselves as successful learners. They must also feel free to “risk” failure and be comfortable with mistakes. We plan success-oriented activities, with positive guidance and discipline. We interact with the children on their level and give positive reinforcement.

3) Children who are respectful and can relate to other children and adults are better adjusted

Children need to be able to relate to each other and adults in a respectful manner. We encourage politeness and manners every day. We provide programming that encourages building healthy relationships with all generations. Children who learn to like and trust adults are beginning to feel part of the community. We will have regular, fun, planned interactions between other children and adults.

4) Children who are healthy, both physically and mentally, can grow up strong and happy.

Children who are healthy grow and learn at the appropriate level. Good health requires that children have nutritious meals and enough rest time for their small bodies to grow. We provide nutritious meals and adequate rest time for your children. In addition, we provide opportunities for both indoor and outdoor exercise.

5) Children who expand their concepts and ideas about the world, will accept other’s differences.

Children who develop an understanding of the community and the people will not only accept differences but will celebrate them. We teach understanding and knowledge of many other peoples and cultures. Only through knowledge about others can we bridge the gap of hate, and learn to love and respect each other.

6) Children who are curious and want to learn will become creative and well educated adults

Children will learn to be critical thinkers and learn to problem solve. They are naturally curious and they learn in many different ways. They learn by being read to, asking questions, observing others, solving problems, and trying new things. We have an exciting curriculum that will encourage positive learning and problem solving.

7) Children must learn to be independent; childhood is a journey to adulthood

Children need the opportunity to make decisions and judgments. This happens through being self-guided, self-directed, and self-disciplined. We encourage children to try things by themselves; of course, we are always here to help and guide.

Christian Values:

The following information is to serve as a guideline for parents.

Parents will often ask what our Christian values are at Children of Grace. We promote a loving, Christ-centered environment for all children. Toddlers and preschoolers will learn about Jesus during daily circle time, Christian holidays, and chapel time each week. They learn songs about Jesus and say daily mealtime prayers. They will learn about the blessings of our families and friends. Strong moral and Christian values are based on our belief in the Apostles Creed:

“We believe in God the Father Almighty maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and buried. He descended into hell, the third day he rose from the grave, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian Church, the Communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting, Amen.”
